In the grand scheme of things, the past two days have been relatively stable. Kevin has not had any further setbacks. He’s been able to get up into a wheelchair for a good amount of time every day, and today he got to pet Chammy outside. Since the chemotherapy course two evenings ago, we haven’t seen many improvements quite yet. However, one notable improvement is that he’s able to slightly move his left toes and leg when he’s in bed, which is something he hasn’t been able to do for quite a while.
At this point, it looks like Kevin will move back to the skilled nursing facility tomorrow. He will not receive another course of chemotherapy for another couple of weeks. Kevin is physically and emotionally exhausted from being back in an acute care hospital, so we hope that he will be able to relax once he’s back in an environment where nurses don’t check his vital signs every few hours.
Please keep up the positive thoughts and prayers for Kevin. We knew that the process of fighting this tumor was never going to be easy, but it seems to grow more and more difficult. We are reminding Kevin to draw not only on his inner strength, but to also tap into the strength and positive energy that you all are sending him.

Hi Kevin,
I suggest you visualize that tumor as the Mount Madonna volleyball team. How badly did you want to beat them? I know I really was irritated by the way the fans would move from side to side in the gym. Uggh! Keep up the good fight!

Hi everyone
We are so glad you get to get out of the main hospital. It is pretty chaotic there and rest and privacy are hard to come by. Wiggling toes sounds like a wonderful step forward and doggy therapy is just the best. I am sitting here with Siskiyou and love to bury my face in her furry neck and she makes those little grunts of happiness just like your Chammy!
Kevin, I can't imagine what you are going through, but we hope our love and prayers and positive thoughts bring you some peace and hope.
We are fighting along side you with all our hearts.

My prayers for you guys continue through these ups and downs. You are an amazing inspiration for me, and I pray that our collective prayers are a comfort for you.
We think of you daily and send our positive thoughts and prayers. Bob and I were at Shabbat services last night. Before the Misheberach prayer, the Rabbi goes around the congregation and people say the names of those they know are sick and in need of healing, we said Kevin's name. This prayer for healing is beautiful and asks G-d for the renewal of body and spirit. We pray that the treatments work to shrink the tumor and that Kevin is back on the road to rehab and recovery soon. love, Bob, Sandy, and Joshua.
