Out of the ICU

A brief update: Kevin was moved out of the ICU last night. The doctors and nurses realized that Kevin was improving enough to no longer need intensive care, so he went to a floor at Stanford where the nursing level is one step down from intensive. We are still smoothing out a lot of kinks from the transition, but overall, Kevin managed the move quite well.

Also, if you have a Facebook account, feel free to join Romain’s Facebook group, Kicking Kevin’s Tumor (see Romain’s comment on the “BIG Steps!” post below). It’s great to spread the word in several different ways—the more people we have thinking about Kevin, the better!

What a fantastic step to be out of the ICU. Congratulations Kevin!
All the hope and strength sent from so many people together on Saturday appears to have already helped result in very positive progress (and what a brave thing to do to read all the names to Kevin!. Hopefully it also helped give you Carolyn, Rich and Stacy even more strength - particularly to get the doctors all on "one page" to help Kevin fight. We'll certainly make Saturday a commitment, but know we're thinking of you all the time.
And I don't know a thing about Facebook (too old), so Stacy, keep up the fantastic job you are doing with th blog!
Love to all,
Cindy

I'm thinking of you, Kevin. I'm remembering the water polo float in the Homecoming parade, and you and your team mates wearing your Speedos and pool deck parkas. What a positive, lively event!
Sending positive thoughts to you and your family,

Kevin,
You probably don't remember me, but I work with your Dad at Watsonville Hospital. I remember you as a little boy coming in to spend time with your Dad while he was working on the weekends. I know that you are a strong young man and you have the strength within you. On Saturdays at noon, I want you to know that I will be sending positive and healing thoughts your way.
Carolyn, Dr.Williams and Stacy, you are all in my thoughts and prayers...
